The Second Written Exercise

This question is about how you physically sit during meditation. Below is a list of different things to consider when writing your answer.

The main part of this question is: What percentage of the time do you sit on a cushion? What percentage of time do you sit in a chair? What percentage of time do you use a kneeling bench?

The more details you give me, the better.

What Do You Sit On? List only the things you sit on and the percentage of time (all the time, 25% of the time, etc.).
Do you sit on a cushion?
Do you sit in a straight back chair like a dining room chair?
Do you sit in a recliner chair?
Do you sit on the couch?
Do you sit on your bed?
Do you sit on a kneeling bench?
Do you sit on a pillow?
Do you sit directly on the floor? If you sit on the the floor, do you use a pad (zabuton)?

Does Your Back Touch/Lean Against Something?
What percentage of the time is your back touching something (a wall, the back of the chair or couch, or the headboard)?
What percentage of time is your back not touching/leaning against something?

What Is The Position Of Your Legs?
Are your legs crossed?
If you're sitting in a chair, are your feet on the floor or on a foot stool?
Are your legs straight out?
Are your legs under you (like when you use a kneeling bench)?

Add in any other details that you can about your sitting posture.
